Bachelors in Industrial Engineering, Ga. Tech (1956). Founded Interface, Inc. in 1973 and became Chairman, President, and CEO. Currently Chairman of the Board of Interface. Has won numerous awards, the latest of which was the US Green Building Council’s Inaugural Leadership Award in the Private Sector (2002). Has published The Journey from There to Here – The Eco-Odyssey of a CEO (1995), and Mid-Course Correction (1998). Member of the Board of Directors of a variety of organizations, including the University of Texas Center for Sustainable Development, Rocky Mountain Institute, Ida Cason Callaway Foundation, Georgia Conservancy, The Natural Step, and LaGrange College, and Northside Methodist Church.
