McDonalds Unveils Gold LEED Plaque |

On Wednesday, October 25, 2006, the LEED Gold Plaque was unveiled at McDonald’s on White Bluff St. in the Abercorn Common shopping center in Savannah, Georgia. Local McDonald’s Owners Gary and Lisa Dodd and Gary Stanberry were on hand for the unveiling, as well as local developer Martin Melaver, and Melaver employees.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, developed and endorsed by the U.S. Green Building Council. The McDonald’s building was developed to Gold standards with daylighting to reduce electricity consumption, energy efficient water and light fixtures, and a reflective white roof.
