Melaver recently acquired The Birmingham Federal Reserve Building in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. There are plans on the drawing board for a two-phase, redevelopment of the facility. The Federal Reserve Building's historic façade will be restored, and Melaver has committed to seeking LEED-NC Silver certification, assuring tenants of the most modern, efficient, technologically advanced and productive workspace available in the Birmingham MSA. Following renovation, there will be office space, and potential restaurant space. Irreplaceable improvements such as the Bank’s vault systems will be preserved and incorporated into unique tenant amenities. January 2007 - Vantage Hospitality Group's Lexington Collection announced it intends to put a four-star project in the top eight floors of the 18-story office and hotel tower planned for the site at the corner of Fourth Avenue North and 18th Street. www.RethinkRebuildRenew.com
