Annie Melone of Melaver, Inc. becomes LEED Accredited Professional

(SAVANNAH) – Annie Melone, assistant construction manager for sustainable real estate developer Melaver, Inc., has become a LEED Accredited Professional, bringing the number of LEED accredited employees at Melaver to 20.

Melone received her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design 2.2 accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council, making her a LEED Accredited Professional. LEED APs have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources, and processes.

Melone implements and oversees various aspects of construction projects, working with contractors and subcontractors. She also gives administrative support of invoice approval and construction documentation, and she develops, audits and revises construction budgets.

Melaver, Inc. is a third-generation, family-owned business based in Savannah, Georgia. The company recently received the Business of the Year award from Buy Local of Savannah for its local commitment to environmentally responsible projects. The company developed one of the first LEED certified buildings in the U.S. that is also on the National Historic Register. It has also developed the first all-retail LEED shopping center in the country, Abercorn Common, including the first LEED McDonald's in the U.S.
