Michael Frey

As the Sustainability Associate for Melaver, Inc., Michael handles LEED documentation, environmental footprint data collection and analysis, outreach and education, research of green building materials, and case studies.  Michael also conducts research in relation to municipal policies, providing ongoing analyisis of portfolio energy and water usages, and collection of data for third-party consultancy work.

Michael is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Environmental Management from Harvard University Extension School in Sustainable Buildings:  Design, Construction and Operations and is LEED accredited.

Michael was the recipient of the Tony Platt Scholarship for Build Boston 2007, served as an Emerging Green Builder's Education Committee member, a Build Boston Volunteer in 2007, and a member of the USGBC Masschusetts Affiliate Corresponding Committee.  He is currently a member of the 2008 Greenbuild "Greening the Conference" and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council Savannah Chapter.

When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
I had high aspirations to be on the open road as a professional truck driver.  My mom still puts the ornament I made in second grade on our Christmas tree.

Name a Movie you could watch over and over again.
The Shawshank Redemption. 

Who is your favorite fictional character?
Bond.  James Bond.

What green items would you like to incorporate into your life?
I’d like to exclusively depend on renewable resources for transportation and housing. 

If you could be reincarnated, who or what would you like to come back as?
I’d come back as a star soccer player on the US National Team or English Premier League or maybe a dog so I could be ecstatic about chasing a tennis ball around

Would you do it all again?
Yes.  I don’t regret a thing when I wake up in the morning.
